Hello 12th Suffolk Voters & Friends!
My name is Jovan Lacet. I live at 30 Cedar Street, Mattapan, Boston. My wife Chandra Joseph-Lacet, of nineteen years, have lived on Cedar Street since 2000. Chandra and I have two daughters, Maya and Imani, both Boston Public School students. I am a United States Marine Corps Veteran, former Boston Police Officer and have been an practicing attorney for twenty-years.
I am running for State Representative of the 12th Suffolk District on September 4, 2018, to give a much needed voice and new energetic leadership. The people of the 12th Suffolk District, which include the communities of Dorchester, Mattapan, Hyde Park, Roslindale and Milton, need responsive and engaged leadership.
I will address the major issues of education, employment, housing, economic development and infrastructure improvements. Additionally, I will focus my attention on the quality of life issues that impact our lives daily, including equatable economic access. I will also initiate and work to enforce legislation that addresses public transportation, economic and criminal justice disparities.
Current leadership recognizes these problems but has been ineffective in addressing them or creating innovative legislation and strategies to resolve them.
The 12th Suffolk District is one the most racially economically, and culturally diverse legislator district in all of the Commonwealth. Utilizing our diversity to solve common problems, and generate a unity with purpose, it's the only way we can grow together and live in harmoniously.
I respectfully ask for your vote on Tuesday September 4th and your support during the campaign.
